Surviving 2012 – It’s Part Mental Too!

Most articles that are written talk about physically surviving 2012.  This article is going to focus on mentally surviving 2012 or better yet mentally preparing to survive 2012 and the events that may or may not happen.

When you think about 2012, does your mind wander to the destruction of the earth due to the ending of the

Mayan Long Count Calendar“?  If it does, do you get stressed about and try to think how you are going to prepare to survive 2012 and the events that are predicted to happen?  These are very real emotions and reactions to thinking about the end of the world as we know it.  However, surviving 2012 need not take up an inordinate amount of your time and energy.

One of the first things that you need to recognize – “Knowledge Is Power!”  Try and find out as much as you can about the theory and truth about the predictions and hype surrounding the events that could happen on or about December 21, 2012.  Although there is more information than you can possibly find and read on the Internet, not all of it is helpful.  Let’s face it – like with most anything else, there are a lot of quacks out there.  When you do read, just try and use your common sense as a filter.  Also, try and find articles and web sites that believe that there will be a catastrophic event in 2012 and also get information that believes that nothing will happen besides 12/21/12 being another normal day in our lives.  Doing that, you have a balance of information so that you can form your own opinions.
As we get closer to the “magic” 2012, there is going to be much, much more attention focused on the Mayan’s theory and prediction that the world will end in 2012 (just remember all of the Y2K craziness).  Knowing the facts will help you to not get as caught up in the hype.  As far as the media goes, they are not going to be looking for feel good stories, but ones that will try and whip you up into a frenzy so you will keep watching them and turn to them for all of your information about the possibility of a cataclysmic event that is going to happen.
Do not make “knee jerk” reactions or poorly thought out moves in dealing with the issues.  This is another place that your screening of information sources will come in handy.  If you did not do any research and one day heard about someone on a website somewhere saying to move to his retreat in the mountains to survive 2012 you would be more inclined to go there.
This is not to say that doing common sense things to survive 2012 is wrong.  It would be wrong to stick you head in the sand and think that nothing could possibly happen.  It is not out of the question or “crazy” to stock up on food, water, first aid supplies and possibly weapons in preparation to survive any events that might come up.  But do not do it obsessively. Your basement does not need to look like an army bunker, just use common sense.
Try and find some like-minded people to talk to about this.  Believe me, there are plenty of people out there that have heard about the prediction and would be good to bounce ideas off of.  You can help each other and there is a lot of comfort in numbers.  There are many forums on the Internet where the details of 2012 are discussed.  To find a list, simply go to www.google and type in forum:2012 or forum:surviving 2012 and you will see that there are a ton of places where people are talking about 2012 and all of the topics that surround it.  Again, remember your filter and look for rational and factual information.
It is true that there could be something major that will happen in 2012, but there is just the same probability that nothing will happen. So don’t let the thought of surviving 2012 take over your life.  The best things that you can do to prepare to mentally survive is to be calm, be prepared and be informed. And remember that Knowledge is always power!

Surviving 2012

Imagine experiencing the impact of a tsunami tidal wave and so realize that surviving 2012 should be on your list of things to check out. If the theories of Mayan Prophecies are to be believed, then we are not very far from the time when the world comes to an end. The date December 21, 2012 has already made everyone concerned as it is the predicted day when this disaster is expected to arrive. Over the last few years, people have been discussing the impact of 2012, but perhaps the days for mere discussion are over. It is high time that we start to prepare strategies for surviving 2012. Whether 2012 will bring the disaster, or it will pass off just like another year is not definite, but it is better to adopt certain basic survival techniques along with a tough frame of mind to survive 2012.

Have the strong will

Be prepared to survive 2012.

Be prepared to survive 2012.

There is a common belief that humanity will come to an end due to a shift in the axis of the earth. If this is the case, there are chances of several cumulative disasters taking place such as tsunamis, earthquakes, nuclear meltdowns, volcanoes and super volcanoes. So far, these disasters have occurred individually, but in 2012, they might all strike together. So, the chances of survival are very less and, therefore, you must have a strong will and a tough frame of mind to exist.

Places to avoid
If the pole shift takes place in December 2012, the places with a huge number of nuclear reactors will be the most dangerous to be in. Therefore, for surviving 2012, you must avoid places like the United States, South America, Europe, Canada, and Australia.

Safe places
The places with the lesser number of nuclear reactors will be safer in comparison to other places. South Africa has only two nuclear reactors and therefore, it will be the safest place. Also, the places with a high level of altitude will be safe as tsunamis will cause the rise of water levels to a massive extent.

Be prepared with food
Arrange for food so that you can manage to exist for at least one year. You must collect fruits, vegetables, dried meats, etc. You can also collect canned foods that are easy to prepare.

Right supplies and skills
According to some people, money will be extremely vital after 2012, but it is better to have proper supplies and skills rather than carrying a good amount of money. Get your basic survival kits
like first aid boxes, batteries, flares, walkie talkies, lanterns, portable water filters, sleeping bags, winter jackets, watrproof jackets, blankets, tents, fireproof matches, unsinkable boat, hunting equipment, etc.

These are some of the basic tips for surviving 2012. Of course, you will want to do your research and get all the facts in order to be prepared in the event this information is accurate.
